The family of murder-accused Oscar Pistorius left Pretoria court on Tuesday (February 19) after the first day of his bail hearing as prosecutors stressed the need for the 'blade runner' to show why he deserved to avoid jail time while awaiting trial. The 26-year-old Olympic and Paralympic star stands accused of murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, at his upmarket home on the outskirts of the South African capital last Thursday (February 14).
