New Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said the U.S. was the first country he wanted to visit after taking power ... but ended up heading to Southeast Asia instead. 85% of Japanese have a positive view of the U.S., according to a Japanese government survey. That's around double the percentage of Chinese who feel the same way. The U.S. was Japan's biggest trade partner until 2007 ... when it was displaced by China. Total bilateral trade topped $180 billion in 2012.
