By: Jamel Valencia
EL PASO, Texas - An inspiring artist finishing up her senior year at Bel Air High School will have her piece of artwork hanging where U.S. congressional leaders pass by every day.

Gabriela Moreno was notified by U.S. Rep. Beto O'Rourke Tuesday that her piece of artwork was chosen to represent El Paso at the U.S. Capitol.

"I am really happy, wow," said the surprised teen.

"This was the most spectacular, beautiful piece of art," said O'Rourke to Moreno during his surprise visit. "Congratulations, Gabby!"

Moreno will be flown to D.C. to hang her artwork herself.

The Congressional Art Competition was open to all El Paso area high schools.

Moreno plans to study art in Sante Fe after graduating.
