Friend of stabbing victim on arrest: It's a relief, but it's not closure'By Crystal PriceEL PASO, Texas -- El Paso police officers announced Monday they had arrested two people in connection with a stabbing in east El Paso that left one man dead and a teenager seriously injured.Authorities said officers had arrested a 16-year-old boy in the stabbing death of Julian Galvan.Friends of Galvan's told KFOX 14 they were relieved to hear that someone had been arrested in the slaying of their friend."It makes me feel very happy, you know to finally have that question answered, you know who did and why did they do it," said Alexia Alatorre, a friend of Julian's.Alatorre said she lived next door to Galvan since she 10 years old."Everybody just loved him," Alotorre said. "Especially that smile of his, that's especially what everyone is going to miss."In addition, 19-year-old Cesar Legarda has been arrested and charged with criminal attempted murder in the stabbing of 16-year-old Adriana Villegas. After KFOX 14 got Cesar Legarda's arrest affidavit we found that Legarda admitted in front of several witnesses that he had stabbed Villegas in the neck with a knife. The affidavit also said that he was at the home of Julian Galvan, the other stabbing victim, when he admitted to stabbing Villegas. As for the man who stabbed Galvan, Galvan's friends are hoping for justice."I think if he in his mind thought that he was old enough to make that adult decision to take someone's life, then he should be able to pay for his consequences as an adult," Aloterre said.Sam is a friend of Galvan's who did not want her name revealed, but she said it does not fix anything."To be honest with you, it's a relief but not so much of a closure, because they took away someone who was very special and there's no way of bringing him back," Sam said. The affidavit shows that Villegas is recovering from her stab wounds at a local hospital.Legarda's bond has been set at $750,000.
