Woman, 18, accused of burglarizing dollar store arrested

By: Jesse Martinez
EL PASO COUNTY, Texas - Shoe prints and other clues led deputies to an 18-year-old woman who allegedly burglarized a dollar store in Tornillo, officials said.

Around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to an alarm call at the Dollar General on the 18600 block of Alameda Avenue.

The front glass door at the business was shattered, and deputies saw shoe prints and other clues around the scene, officials said.

Those clues led them about 1,000 feet away to a residence on the 19000 block of Tornillo Avenue.

Detectives then spoke with various homeowners in the area that led them to Yesenia Estrada.

Estrada was charged with burglary of a building, and she was booked into the county jail with bail set at $2,500.

Deputies are continuing to investigate this case and anticipate other arrests.
