Montana Avenue construction frustrating El Paso drivers

By: Chrisdyann Uribe

EL PASO, Texas- Ongoing construction on Montana Avenue is causing major delays for El Paso drivers.

It's the Montana Avenue overlay project where Texas Department of Transportation crews are resurfacing the stretch of the road. Because of this, alternate lanes are closed from Joe Battle Boulevard to Desert Meadows.

Many drivers in the area are not happy about the lane closures causing delays.

"Traffic gets pretty bad especially in the mornings. It's frustrating and time consuming. You spend a lot of time just to go through that area," said Isaac Medina.

TXDOT has not posted an end date to this project but it will continue this week through Friday, a sight motorists are not looking forward to.

" I get angry because I don't get to places on time. I get really late to school and there's a lot of traffic. With there being only one lane open, it makes it really hard," Catia Tarries said.

The project will continue through Friday, closing lanes from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
