Man, 19, teen arrested in connection to east El Paso deadly stabbing

By: Jesse Martinez
EL PASO, Texas -- Police arrested a man and a teen boy in connection with their alleged involvement in an east El Paso stabbing that killed one person and injured another.
As KFOX14 previously reported, 19-year-old Julian Galvan and 16-year-old Adriana Villegas were stabbed at a party on Tierra Cobre Drive around 2:30 a.m. March 30.
Galvan died from his injuries at a local hospital and Villegas was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police said Cesar Legarda, 19, and a 16-year-old boy were arrested for their alleged involvement.
The boy was turned over to the juvenile probation department for investigation of murder and Legarda was booked into the county jail under a criminal attempted murder charge.
Police said the boy stabbed Galvan while Legarda stabbed Villegas.
Legarda's bond was set at $750,000, and police have not released his mug shot as they continue their investigation.
In a previous interview with KFOX14, the host of the party, who wished to remain anonymous, said the party was originally calm until things got out of hand.
"We were having a party for my friend, who had graduated from Southwest University and his birthday was coming up," the host said.
But he said things started escalating when a group of people, they didn't know, showed up and tried to start mischief.
"We were starting to kick people out, but they didn't want to leave, that's when I started seeing my brother get in a fight with them," the host said. "The guy who passed away got stabbed out here, and then after that cops started pulling up."
Galvan was a former student at Americas High School while Villegas is a current student at Americas High School.
