Police: El Paso man posed as teen girl, exchanged child pornography with Maine manBy: Jesse MartinezEL PASO, Texas An investigation between Presque Isle, Maine, and El Paso police led to the arrest of two men accused of exchanging child pornography. Police were tipped off around December 2013 that two men later identified as Rodolfo Carrillo of El Paso and Cecil Ireland of Presque Isle disguised themselves online as 15 and 16-year-old girls and shared child pornography, officials said. Investigators were able to trace the pornographic images to Ireland when a laptop containing child pornography was left as collateral for a loan at a Maine pawn shop. Through their investigation, police were able to identify Carrillo as the other man involved in sharing child pornography, officials said. As authorities executed a search warrant at Carrillos home, they retrieved a thumb drive in his bedroom that contained child pornography, officials said. This case is yet another great example of the cooperation between various levels of law enforcement in the investigation of these types of web-based crimes. Just like the Internet can reach across the country so does law enforcement. Criminals who choose to exploit children should take note of this case and accept the reality that if they choose to commit these types of crimes they will be identified, located and prosecuted, said Patrick Pelletier, commander of the El Paso Police Departments Internet Crimes Against Children unit. Ireland, 34, was booked into the Presque Isle jail on March 10 and was charged with possession of sexually explicit material. Carrillo, 27, was booked into the El Paso County jail with bail set at $70,000. He was charged with possession of child pornography with intent to promote.
