Two house fires overnight in Las Cruces

Two house fires this weekend in Las Cruces left two people without homes.
Las Cruces Fire Department first went to the 2200 block of Holiday Avenue before midnight Saturday to extinguish a fire at a mobile home.
Heavy flames and smoke were reportedly coming out of the mobile home as firefighters arrived.
The woman inside the home was able to get out safely thanks to a police officer, according to fire officials.
The second fire was in the 400 block of West Ethel Avenue at 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
Heavy flames and smoke were witnessed by firefighters from the side of the house.
A man who was inside at the time was able to get out with the help of firefighters.
Both fires are under investigation.
No word on how much damage each fire caused to the homes.
No injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross is helping the people affected by both of the fires, according to the Las Cruces Fire Department.
