Tire marks led deputies to hit-and-run suspect

By: Jesse Martinez
EL PASO, Texas A trail of tire marks led deputies to a man accused of being involved in a hit-and-run accident, deputies said.

The accident happened around 3 a.m. Saturday on the 1300 block of Horizon Boulevard.

The victim told deputies he was stopped at a red light on Horizon Boulevard when a white BMW rear-ended his vehicle, deputies said.

With the help of the victims friend, a deputy followed tire marks to the 100 block of Elsworth Drive. At a residence on that street deputies found a BMW that looked as though it was involved in a crash, deputies said.

The investigation led to the arrest of the vehicle owner, Humberto Sanchez.

Sanchez, 37, was charged with accident involving damage to vehicle more than $200.

He was booked into the county jail with bail set at $300.
