Two separate shootings startle northeast residents

By: Ruben VelozEL PASO, Texas -- Police are investigating two early morning shootings happening within blocks from each other in Northeast El Paso.

El Paso police tell KFOX14 one of those shootings hit a woman's home while her thee kids were inside.

It happened on Wadsworth and Clearwater avenues around 3:30 a.m. Friday, police said.  
Officers tell KFOX14 the mother and her three kids were not hurt.

Isis Scott, a neighbor with in the area spoke to KFOX14 about what she heard.

"It did startle me, said Scott I was worried if someone got hurt or not, so I looked out the window to check, and I didn't see anyone get hurt so, I wasn't as worried afterwards."

Police said they found five bullet casings in the area, and evidence that one of the bullets went through a living room window and inside the home.

Officers said another bullet hit a car parked car on the homes driveway.

Three hours after police left the scene KFOX14 discovered two bullets had hit the car.

Officers do not know what led to the shooting, however several they were called to another shooting at a home on Centaur Street and Sagittarius Avenue several minutes after the first shooting.

"Not too long afterwards I heard a gunshot down the street because the dogs were barking and I realized I noticed the popping sound, said neighbor Isis Scott.

No one was hurt in the second shooting, but police said the shootings may be related.
