EL PASO, Texas -- The El Paso Police Department is investigating an early-morning stabbing in far east El Paso.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3400 block of Tierra Cobre Drive.

According to police, one person is dead and one other injured after a stabbing at a party.

Police had responded to a loud party at 2 a.m. at 3400 Tierra Cobre. The call was later updated to a fight at 2:30 a.m.

Julian Galvan, 19, was stabbed and taken to the hospital, where he died, police said.

Adriana Villegas, 16, was also stabbed and was taken to the hospital; she was last said to be in critical condition.

David Muniz, a far east El Paso resident, was at the party on Saturday night.

"When I got here it was pretty packed and it was full of cars. It was like quiet, it wasn't a crazy night," Muniz said.

However, he said all of a sudden, a fight broke out in the street.

"All these bottles started breaking, people started breaking bottles, on other people's heads," Muniz said.

Muniz said a girl tried to break up the fight, when she was stabbed.

"She got stabbed in the throat," Muniz said. "I'm shocked. I was at the party, it could have been me. It could have been anybody else."

One neighbor told KFOX 14 that this isn't the first time she's heard of an incident like this on Tierra Cobre Drive.

"It's pretty safe, especially for children, good schools, good homes, but this is the second or third time that it happened, so it's not too safe," said Monica Rodriguez, a neighbor in the area.

Neighbors said they just hope who did it gets caught and that justice is served.

"Hopefully the person that is responsible for anything that happened like this, hopefully they suffer the consequences," said Norma Flores, a neighbor in the area.

No arrests have been made. Crimes Against Person's and Crime Scene units responded to the scene.

Socorro Independent School District officials tell KFOX14 the girl who was injured is a student at Americas High School. Counselors are available at the campus to meet with students, according to district officials.

If anyone has any information on this case, El Paso police ask you to call them at 915-832-4400.
