Bond reduction hearing delayed for Jeffrey Farrey

By: Jesse Martinez
EL PASO, Texas Jeffrey Farrey, the father of a 5-month-old boy believed to have been found buried in the desert, was in court Friday to have his bond reduced.

No decision was made by a state district judge, and it is expected the judge will decide next week whether Farreys bond will be reduced from $1.5 million.

As KFOX14 previously reported, Farrey, 22, was charged with injury to a child by omission in the death of Jackson Farrey, who was found buried in a desert area in Orogrande, N.M.

According to his arrest affidavit, police entered his home after Farrey failed to show up for work. An investigation was launched for his whereabouts along with his wife Jenna Farrey, and their two sons Jackson and Blake.

After an investigation, Jeffrey and Jenna Farrey were arrested on Nov. 17 in Escanaba, Mich. as police discovered they failed to seek medical care for Jackson after he was found unresponsive, according to court documents.

The couple admitted that Jackson Farrey was dead and buried somewhere in the desert, according to court documents.

The remains were found on Nov. 20.

Jenna Farrey, 20, was charged with suspicion of injury to a child and her bond was set at $1.5 million. She is scheduled to go to trial on Dec. 5, according to court documents.
