Police investigate pedestrian accident on Interstate 10

EL PASO, Texas Police say two people were taken to the hospital after a pedestrian was hit by a car after walking into oncoming traffic on Interstate 10 which caused another accident.
 
The accidents forced police to shut down the east-bound lanes near Lee Trevino and the Zaragoza Road exit for nearly five hours.
 
Thousands of drivers were stuck on I-10 east for miles and hours as police re-directed traffic away from the accident.
 
Many drivers called 911 at about 8:30 p.m. Monday to say there was a man walking in the middle of the freeway, El Paso police said.
 
Police tell KFOX14 the man was walking in and out of the east-bound lanes when he was hit by a car.
 
Although several drivers tried to avoid him, the man also caused two cars to crash into each other, injuring one of the drivers.
