El Paso leads in longest average wait time to see doctor

By: Jamel Valencia

Most people going to see a doctor can expect to wait before they are seen by a physician.

According to the Vital Index annual report, El Pasoans wait the longest amount of time in the nation.

For the third year in a row, the longest average wait time was reported in El Paso at 29 minutes and 20 seconds, stated the report.

Doctor offices' wait times in Seattle are reported to be the shortest at 16 minutes and 15 seconds.

In 2013, El Pasos office wait times increased 41 seconds compared to the year before.

We are going to continue to feel a strain on the system, especially in our most populated cities and urban areas. As people seek quality doctors, wait time will impact a patients perception, and ultimately their relationship with their physician, Mitch Rothschild, chief executive officer of Vitals, said in a statement.
