3-year-old boy, Lionel, found alone at south-central park

EL PASO, Texas - A young boy was found wandering a park in south-central El Paso -- police investigators ask for the publics help in finding his parents or guardian.

A 3-year-old boy that goes by the name of Lionel was spotted Friday around 10 a.m. at Washington Park by a passerby, an El Paso Police Department spokesman said.

The passerby realized Lionel was alone and called police to report him.

Police said before they arrived, the good Samaritan stayed with Lionel.

As of Friday afternoon, police investigators have not found the childs family.

Police are asking the public to help with their investigation.

Lionel speaks Spanish and was wearing blue jeans and a yellow shirt featuring Dora the Explorer character Diego.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 915-832-4400.

Child Protective Services is taking custody of the boy until his family is located.
