Former police officer sentenced to prison on drug chargeBy: Jesse MartinezEL PASO, Texas A former El Paso police officer was sentenced to two years in prison and a $500 fine on a drug conspiracy charge, federal officials said. Billy Jack Barrow, 32, was ordered to surrender to federal authorities by May 9 to serve his prison term. As KFOX14 previously reported, Barrow pleaded guilty on Oct. 31 to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine. He admitted to tipping off co-conspirators about bar checks and other law enforcement operations while he served as an El Paso County constable from January 2010 to September 2012. Upon his release, Barrow will be under supervised release for two years.
