Former high school football star found dead in El Paso hotel.

EL PASO, Texas - Andress High School football star Andre Jones was found dead in a hotel room Friday. According to the El Paso Police Department, they found his body at El Paso Suites Hotel at 6100 Gateway East around 8 a.m. after they received a call from a payphone on Copia Street.
The 24-year-old Andress High School graduate was said to be one of the best El Paso football players ever produced. He was named to the Parade All-America Team, voted Class 4A defensive player of the year by the Texas Sports Writers Association and named to the Associated Press All-State team, according to the El Paso Times.
When he graduated high school in 2007 he was recruited by the University of Texas at Austin to play for the Longhorns as a defensive lineman. However, he was never able to play for them because he was kicked off the team for being arrested and pleading guilty to a robbery of a video-game system, cash and cell phone, according to the El Paso Times. In 2008 Jones attended the University of Texas at El Paso but was injured when he was hit by a car outside of a club. In 2012 he ran into problems with the law once again when he was arrested for the alleged possession of 34 grams of crack cocaine; the case was dismissed according to the El Paso Times.
Spokesman Detective Mike Baranyay there were no signs of foul play and an autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
