EL PASO, Texas -- The arrest affidavit for a Bowie High School teacher accused of luring one of his 16-year-old students into his home and engaging in inappropriate relations with her was released Tuesday.
Eleazar Venzor, 33, was arrested on Feb. 7 and booked into the El Paso County Jail on $7,500 bail. Since the allegations went public and Venzor resigned from the district, his students have been confused.
He was very respectful. I don't know about all the rumors, said Stephanie, a Bowie High School student.
We know Venzor and he's not like that, said Patrick, another student.
He would treat us with respect, said Gerardo, a sophomore at Bowie High School.
On Tuesday students learned even more about the allegations. According to the arrest affidavit, Venzor was texting the underage girl during a six-month period. The texts investigators found read: "I love you, I miss you, you make me feel special."
The teen told investigators she asked Venzor to tutor her. The affidavit states Venzor drove the girl to his house after school because he allegedly forgot something and needed to pick it up before their tutoring session. The girl told police Venzor then asked her to come in, saying he could tutor her at his house instead.
According to the affidavit, he started making sexual passes at her then undressed her and had sexual intercourse with her."
The affidavit states he drove her home right after.
I never thought he would actually do that, said Gerardo.
Gerardo said while he heard the rumors around school he doesn't want to believe it.
For a teacher like him to do that kind of stuff, I think it's kind of wrong. Yeah, I think it's wrong, said Gerardo.
According to the affidavit, investigators found photos of the teen inside Venzor's home.
I know her, but if it's true they should do something to her, too, not only him -- it was two (people). I don't know, said Stephanie.
Venzor is also the assistant coach for the girls track team and the freshman boys basketball coach.
KFOX14 crews went to Venzors home in west El Paso to see if anyone was home. While cars were in the driveway, no one answered the door. His neighbors, however, did talk to our crews and described Venzor as a private man who they dont know much about.
(I hope he) learns a lesson not to have a relationship with somebody that is that young, said neighbor Jesus Capata.
