Study shows women less prepared for roadside emergency compared to men
By: Chrisdyann Uribe
EL PASO, Texas -- Throughout the busy streets and freeways in El Paso, cars are prone to breaking down on the side of the road. Drivers in El Paso showed KFOX14 if the items they have in the trunk of their car will be useful when your car is out-of-service.
According to a State Farm study, men were more likely than women to have a least one emergency supply in their trunk.
Art Fino, the store manager at OReillys Auto Parts, told KFOX14 what drivers should in trunk.
We have a bag that has a first aid kit, duct tape, and a poncho just in case its raining. You know screw drivers and a rag. Its something quick and easy you can throw it in your trunk," Fino said.
The same study showed two out of three drivers admitted to having stuff in their trunk that they didnt need.
Three out of four drivers did have at least one type of essential emergency supply.
You never know whats going to happen or whats on the road, also it saves you from being stranded. Have a jack, a cross wrench, and a good knife. Its also nice to prepare for different types of situations or if youre going to help someone out on the road. You can have that or a multitool, said west El Paso resident Israel Del Gado.
