Update: Suspect in northeast El Paso stabbing caught on camera

By: Jesse Martinez
EL PASO, Texas -- Two men in their 20s were stabbed after a fight broke out outside of a convenience store on New Year's Day, and police are looking to a man who may have been involved.

Around 1:44 a.m., police said they responded to a call at the Circle K at 4501 Woodrow Bean Transmountain Drive and when they arrived, they saw two men with stab wounds.

Police said a 20-year-old and a 23-year-old man were stabbed inside a vehicle that was leaving the parking lot. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The investigation revealed that a fight broke out between two groups of men outside of the convenience store, which led to the stabbing.

A man involved in the incident was captured on surveillance camera, and he was seen driving a tan or gold late '90s or early 2000 Ford Explorer. He is described as a heavyset Hispanic man with a mustache and wore a blue Los Angeles Dodgers jacket and dark-colored baseball cap.

Three other men were injured in the fight, but did not require treatment, police said.

No arrests were made and the police department's gang unit is investigating the case.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477.
