Several police units respond to traffic stop after officer calls for backup

By: Elena Arteaga

EL PASO, Texas -- More than half a dozen El Paso police units respond to a traffic stop after an officer calls for back up.

The incident happened just after 4:00 A.M. at I-10 west and mile marker 15, near Executive Center.

Police told KFOX14 that the officer had conducted a traffic stop, when the driver of a pick-up truck began giving that officer problems. That's when the officer called for police back-up, prompting several police units in the area to rush to the officer's aid.

Police did not say what problems the driver was causing. KFOX14 was told that one person was detained in that incident.

No injuries were immediately reported.
