Second arrest made in November hit-and-run deaths

EL PASO, Texas - El Paso police investigators made a second arrest in connection with a hit-and-run that killed an 18-year-old pregnant woman in November.

David Cazares, 17, was arrested on two counts of murder for the deaths of 18-year old Alma Reaux and her 13-week-old fetus, police said.

Cazares, was a passenger in the vehicle that struck Reaux, police said.

They said Cazares took drugs from Reaux when they met around 1 p.m. on the 200 block of W. California.

According to police, Cazares kept the drugs out of reach from Reaux. For unknown reasons, Reaux tried to get the drugs back when the vehicle Cazares was in took off, police said.

Reaux and her unborn child were killed when they were struck by the vehicle, police said.
Cazares was booked into El Paso County Jail on a bond totaling $1 million.

The driver of the vehicle, Ruben Cazares, 38, was arrested Dec. 24 in connection with the deaths of Reaux and her 13-week-old fetus, police said.

He was also booked into El Paso County Jail on a bond totaling $1 million.
