Man wanted for possession of marijuana

By: Jamel Valencia
EL PASO, Texas - A man who allegedly had more than 117 pounds of marijuana on him during a traffic stop is being sought by the local authorities.

Omar De La Fuente, 24, is featured in this week's Manhunt Monday.

De La Fuente was stopped in October while driving a white Ford F-150 truck north on Montana Street, near Geronimo Street, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies approached De La Fuente, they said they smelled marijuana coming from the truck, which prompted them to search it.

A drug-sniffing dog found 117.5 pounds of marijuana wrapped in bundles, deputies said.

Investigators are now looking for De La Fuente, who they believe is eluding capture.
He is wanted on suspicion of possession of marijuana of over 50 pounds but under 2,000.

Anyone who has information on De La Fuente is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 915-566-8477.
