Unsealed search warrants reveal what may have killed Jackson Farrey

By: Gina Benitez
EL PASO, Texas - The search warrants that the El Paso Police department executed after the death of Jackson Farrey were unsealed Thursday.
The documents stated the infant's father, Jeffrey Farrey, told his father Jackson choked to death before he and his wife Jenna buried him in the desert somewhere in Texas or New Mexico.
It also stated documents said Jeffrey told his dad details about baby Jackson's death on Nov. 16, the day before the couple was found in a Michigan motel.
"I haven't seen the warrants. It's interesting that the lawyer doesn't have access to the warrants yet. The district attorney's office has not turned them over to us," said Joe Spencer, Jeffrey Farrey's attorney.
The Farrey family was reported missing two days earlier after Jeffrey Farrey, a Fort Bliss Specialist, hadn't reported to work.
The warrants indicated the landlord and Farrey's squad leader went inside the couple's home and found a total mess.
A journal, believed to be that of Jenna Farrey, was also reportedly found with a possible suicide note.
The last line in the note reportedly read:
"DKH will be bringing our bodies to a place where we can be at rest."
When the Farrey's were found at that Michigan motel, they had their older son Blake but baby Jackson wasn't with them.
The warrants reveal both parents claimed the boy was staying with grandparents but the grandparents told police otherwise.
Police also said Jenna Farrey rented a U-haul on Nov. 1.
The documents say Jeffrey Farrey crossed the Alamogordo Border Patrol checkpoint on Nov. 13 around 4:30 a.m. in the charger registered to the couple.
An image captured at the checkpoint seemed to indicate Jeffrey Farrey was the only one in the car.
On Nov. 20, remains of an infant was found outside Orogrande, N.M. -- police believe they are those of baby Jackson.
Autopsy results are still pending.
Spencer, Jeffrey's attorney, told KFOX 14 he's concerned with his client's mental state, and Jeffrey is devastated over the loss.
"I can tell you that he continues to express concern over Blake. Blake's in the custody of CPS and he wants to have him with his family as soon as possible," Spencer said.
Jenna and Jeffrey Farrey are still being held at the El Paso County Jail.
