By: Jesse Martinez
EL PASO, Texas The father of a 5-month-old allegedly found buried in the desert in New Mexico was indicted Wednesday.
Jeffrey Farrey was charged with injury to a child by omission after he allegedly did not provide medical care, control and protection for his son Jackson Farrey while he assumed custody of the child on Oct. 27.
As KFOX14 previously reported, a body believed to be Jackson's was found Nov. 20 in a desert area in Orogrande, N.M., off of west U.S. Route 54 between El Paso, Texas, and Alamogordo, N.M., last month.
The Farrey family -- Jeffrey, 22; Jenna, 20; Blake, 19 months old; and Jackson -- was reported missing in November and were later found in Michigan.
Jeffrey's wife Jenna was being held at the Delta County Jail in Michigan on a fugitive from justice warrant, and was extradited to El Paso Dec. 3.
