By: Joshua Zuber and Sarai Bejarano
EL PASO, Texas -The identity of the person who may be responsible for a Lower Valley crash early Saturday morning is said to be the now former employee of El Paso Genuine Construction.
The owner, Joe Tellez, told KFOX 14 an employee of his company, Juan Molina, took the vehicle without permission.
Tellez told KFOX 14 Molina is no longer with the company.
El Paso police Saturday afternoon sent out a statement about the accident.
Police said two people were transported to local hospitals after that collision in the Lower Valley around 2:25 a.m. Saturday.
The Special Traffic Investigations unit was called to the scene at 2:25 a.m. on Saturday, and their investigation revealed that a 2000 Isuzu NPR utility truck was going westbound on North Loop and ran a red light.
The Isuzu then struck a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 43-year old Pilar Garcia as it was turning from Hunter onto North Loop.
The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu sustained serious internal injuries and is in critical condition.
The passenger, Alexander Galarza, 17, also received injuries from the crash.
The driver of the utility truck, Molina, fled the scene on foot after the accident and was later tracked down by a police k-9 at a nearby home.
Charges are still reportedly pending in the accident.
Molina was treated for minor injuries.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this accident.
