Drivers experience more aggression during holidays

EL PASO, Texas-- Have you been experiencing many aggressive drivers this holiday season? Youre not alone. More than half of drivers have felt the heat from others occur more in the past couple of months.
A survey by State Farm Insurance showed that 64 percent of drivers experienced more aggressive driving six times or more in the past three months.
Improper lane changes, speeding and tailgating is considered aggressive behavior by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. El Pasoans have seen it and think the drivers here have their own share of aggressive driving.
Drivers are not putting on their blinkers. Thats a huge problem. People just swerve from left to right and that seems to be an issue, said Claudia Farnsworth.
Many are taking risks in terms of cutting people off or speeding up to get in line first at the light, said Jeff Huff.
People cutting everyone off or youll see a parking spot and someone will just cut you off, said Jacob Whitt.
Forty-four percent even owned up to driving aggressively themselves. Drivers here offered advice to preventing road rage which may cause accidents.
I would say calm down because the moment you touch somebody elses car then youre going to have to get the insurance involved, " Whitt said.
When somebody cuts you off, just look at it as an attempt to express graciousness to them, Huff said.
Have some coffee or Starbucks, said Farnsworth.
According to the same survey, 54 percent of drivers think men are more aggressive while driving than women; 37 percent think its equal.
