Manhunt Monday: Driver, passenger being sought after traffic stop yields marijuana seizure

By: Elena Arteaga

EL PASO, Texas Local law enforcement authorities are searching for a man they said fled from authorities after a traffic stop in late October.

El Paso County Sheriffs Office deputies said they stopped a white F-150 that was traveling eastbound on Montana near Geronimo. When they made contact with the driver, identified now as Omar De La Fuente, they noticed the smell of marijuana emitting from the truck. A search by K-9 units resulted in the discovery 117.5 pounds of marijuana wrapped in bundles.

Deputies said Cesar Eduardo Izaguirre was a passenger in the pickup truck driven by De La Fuente.

Deputies have not said how the two managed to get away from them, but they did say that they have issued arrest warrants for the two. Izaguirre is wanted for the offenses of possession of marijuana over 50 pounds under 2000 pounds.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477.
