City officials: Do not cut through neighborhoods near Country Club Road, Montwood Drive

The city of El Paso's engineering department is asking that drivers not cut through neighborhoods near the Country Club Road, Montwood Drive construction projects.
"As a courtesy to residents, we are once again asking motorists to avoid cutting through residential neighborhoods to avoid construction areas," said Engineering Division Manager Gilbert Andujo in a press release.
"Additionally, residents should not seek to go around barricades or move traffic control devices - for their safety and that of construction workers."
The only motorists who should be driving on Country Club Road in the Upper Valley are those who cannot access their property via any other route, city officials stated.
This includes westbound through traffic is detoured north on Doniphan Drive, west on Artcraft Road, and south on McNutt Road and eastbound through traffic is detoured south on McNutt Road to Sunland Park Drive to Doniphan and Interstate 10.
Local detours are in place to ensure residents, businesses and other property owners have access at all times.
The Country Club Road project is a more than $14 million dollar project to widen and improve the street, plus utility work.
