UPDATE: Missing Fort Bliss soldier found

CATRON COUNTY, N.M. -- Fort Bliss officials confirmed a missing Fort Bliss soldier was found early Wednesday morning, after he failed to return from a hunting trip and was declared missing.

Lt. Emmanuel Gutierrez, the public information officer for New Mexico State Police, said Army Major Jeremy Martin Thompson had been missing since Monday, November 11.

The 34-year-old was last seen near State Road 52, and State Road 152-- East and North of Winston, N.M.

Thompson was supposed to return from that hunting trip on Tuesday. Police said he contacted his wife on Monday, but has not been seen or heard from since.

Thompson does not suffer from any medical conditions. He was last seen driving a 2007 GMC with Texas license plates 17FMF9. Police said Thompson had abandoned that vehicle.

No other information was given about his current condition or where he was found.
