Reward offered for car thief's arrest

A Las Cruces couple who went out shopping overnight were allegedly forced by a robber to hand over the keys to their car.

Around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, the couple went out to the Walmart at 3331 Rinconada Blvd. A Hispanic man walked up to them demanding their wallets, cell phones and car keys, according to Las Cruces police.

According to police, the couple said the robber was armed.

No injuries were reported, but the robber got away with their belongings and the man's Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Police describe the robber as 5 feet 10 inches tall with several tattoos. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and a white undershirt.

The silver 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse has New Mexico license plates 605RGJ.
