Airport tests emergency plan in annual exercise

EL PASO, Texas Airport officials along with the El Paso Fire Department conducted an exercise Thursday morning to test and evaluate the Airport Emergency Plan.

From 8 a.m. to noon, aircraft rescue firefighters with the Fire Department along with the El Paso International Airport Operations Department conducted its annual Table Top Emergency Exercise.

The airport is regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration for airport certification and is required to conduct this type of exercise every year.

Airport officials tested the airport's emergency plan along with the city's fire and police departments, Federal Bureau of Investigations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Fort Bliss, Red Cross, hospitals and other agencies.
