Deputies: Speed, alcohol, lack of seat belt factors is deadly rollover

DONA ANA COUNTY, N.M. -- A 57-year-old man was killed after he lost control of his vehicle and it rolled over Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

According to the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office, Louis Gariano was driving north on County Road D-66 near Jornado Road.

He reportedly lost control of his Isuzu Trooper and veered off he roadway, officials said. Deputies believe speed and alcohol were factors and that he driver was not wearing a seat belt.

Another person was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but that person was not injured, deputies said.
