EL PASO, Texas - A 25-year-old El Paso woman who is believed to have left the scene of a hit-and-run accident Monday was arrested.
Janae Dixon faces an accident involving death charge.
El Paso police said that Dixon was driving an SUV on the 9100 block of Dyer when Errol McKinney, 33, was heading southbound on his motorcycle. An investigation revealed that Dixon's SUV got into his McKinney's path.
McKinney's motorcycle struck the right side of the SUV, according to police traffic investigators.
When police officers arrived they found McKinney with serious injuries at the scene. Witnesses at the scene told police the SUV that had hit the motorcycle had taken off.
McKinney was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
Wednesday afternoon, police arrested Dixon and booked her into jail on a $100,000 bond.
According to police, Dixon also had multiple outstanding traffic warrants.
As of Sept. 1, the penalty for hit-and-run fatalities are equal to that for intoxicated manslaughter.
