By: Jamel Valencia
EL PASO, Texas - Everyone who works at El Paso's City Hall is required to wear their badge; this announcement was made in effort to increase security, said a city official.
Mayor Oscar Leeser and city manager Joyce Wilson both decided on the tighter security after national events and a review of security measures in several places in El Paso. Details of what those security measures were not released.
All city employees must wear city ID's while inside and to get access inside the building. Everyone walking into the building will have to go through electronic screening and random searches of purses and bags. Security personnel guard the mayors and council offices and monitor traffic on the second floor. All emergency exits will be monitored by cameras, state the release.
It also stated that the security procedures are in place so that everyone feels safe and comfortable at work.
