Citys selfpromotion campaign garners millions in free press
By: Jesse Martinez
EL PASO, Texas - A campaign to promote the city's image has received more than $5 million in free press, officials said.
"El Paso, It's All Good" has garnered 25 stories in major publications. It has also drawn in around 2,000 digital ambassadors, or locals who promote the city on their social media pages and then receive incentives, said officials with the El Paso Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Different directors of conventions and visitor's bureau's from around the state had several things to say about their take on the city's image.
"I had no reservations actually, because I was here in November and experienced it firsthand for myself that it's a very safe city, and regardless of what those first impressions or preconceived notions may be, it's very, very safe," said Stephanie Molina of Beaumont.
More than 5,000 positive stories on El Paso have been shared or re-shared via email and social media since the campaign's inception.
