Deputies: Man who gave deputies fake name has criminal history
By: Jesse Martinez
EL PASO COUNTY, Texas -- A man who goes by many names and has a criminal history out of Nevada and California was arrested Monday by deputies.
Deputies pulled the man over in Socorro for a traffic stop at the intersection of Horizon Boulevard and North Loop Drive, officials said.
The man appeared nervous and had "evasive behavior" when he gave deputies his name, officials said.
Deputies decided to transport the man to get a positive identification through his fingerprints, and at that time, the man admitted to giving them a fake name, officials said.
The man told deputies that his real name was Alfredo Perez.
When deputies analyzed Perez's fingerprints, they discovered that he had another name and date of birth that returned a criminal history.
Deputies discovered that Perez was known for using several fraudulent identities including Ismael Mendoza, Salvador Villa Garcia and Carlos Nunez.
Perez was charged with failure to identify, and deputies said additional charges are pending. He was booked on a $1,000 bond.
