By: Jamel Valencia
EL PASO, Texas -- Police investigators said they've connected "Manhattan Heights" sexual predator to three local alleged sexual assaults and one in Fort Worth, Texas.
Arturo Valtierra-Payan faces six additional charges that include three aggravated sexual assault charges and three burglary of habitation charges that were filed against him Thursday. In July, police arrested Valtierra-Payan for burglary of habitation.
Valtierra-Payan was arrested in early July when police investigators said an alleged witness identified him as the Manhattan Heights sexual predator.
On Thursday, a KFOX14 crew was able to get video of Valtierra-Payan being escorted from the Downtown Regional Command Center to jail. When KFOX14 reporter Gina Benitez asked Valtierra-Payan if he had anything to say, he didn't reply and kept his head down.
Police believe that Valtierra-Payan attacked three local women inside their homes after breaking in.
DNA evidence of Valtierra-Payan was linked to a sexual assault case that was reported in Fort Worth in September 2012.
El Paso police detectives made the connection when the evidence was submitted the Combined DNA Index System.
El Paso and Forth Worth authorities are working together on these cases.
Valtierra-Payan is being held at the El Paso County Jail on $2.1 million bond.
According to police, there are no other cases open against Valtierra-Payan.
