Reward offered for information in Las Cruces hit-and-run bicycle accident

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- A bicyclist from Las Cruces who was hit by a vehicle last week while riding died over the weekend.
Terence Patrick Havey, 57, was taken off of life support.
The driver a red pickup truck believed to have been involved in the hit-and-run accident is being sought by Las Cruces police.
The deadly accident happened just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, when the victim was hit by either a red GMC or Chevrolet pickup near the 1800 block of Valley Drive.
Havey was found several feet from where the accident happened, police said.
They said the driver did not stop and dragged the bicycle as he or she continued down Valley Drive.
Police were able to locate the bike on Main Street underneath the Interstate 10 overpass, police said.
The last known whereabouts of the driver was south of Main Street near University Avenue.
Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call police at 575-526-0795.
The reward for information that helps investigators identify the driver has doubled to $2,000.
