EL PASO, Texas -- At least one person was rushed to University Medical Center after being stabbed in Downtown El Paso.

Police were called out to investigate a reported stabbing at Missouri and Mesa at 2:12 A.M. early Friday morning.

The victim, said to be a man, was rushed to UMC for treatment.

Witnesses told KFOX14 that the stabbing happened while patrons were leaving local bars and nightclubs. One witness said he saw two men begin arguing, before the victim lifted his shirt, and began yelling: "You stabbed me! You stabbed me!"

That witness told KFOX14 that the victim had been stabbed in the abdomen. Witnesses said the alleged stabber ran off before police arrived.

Police did not immediately confirm where the man had been stabbed, or how many times.

The man was said to be in serious condition.

As of 3:00 A.M., police had not taken anyone into custody.
