And the winner is... KFOX News at Nine!

It's a familiar announcement at the annual Katie Awards ceremony which is sponsored by the Dallas Press Club. For the seventh time in eight years, and the fourth year in a row, the most watched newscast in El Paso and Las Cruces has taken home top honors for Best Newscast.

Only three newscasts are even selected as finalists each year from among the hundreds eligible throughout Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado and Arkansas. KFOX News at Nine has been selected a finalist and then won the Katie in every year of its existence except one. And in the past two years, there's been a new twist. One of the two other finalists for the award has been The KFOX Morning News!

"It's a tremendous honor to receive just one Katie," says KFOX News Director David Bennallack. "But to be selected as Best Newscast on such a consistent basis tells you a lot about the amount of teamwork in the KFOX Newsroom. TeamFOX viewers can be proud as well. We never forget that they have a choice, and we hope this continues to justify their tremendous support for KFOX News."

KFOX has also received past Katie Awards for Breaking News Coverage, Photography, and Sports Coverage.
