Elizabeth O'Hara Signs Off

POSTED: 9:19 pm MDT August 12, 2008
UPDATED: 9:45 pm MDT August 12, 2008

Over the course of the last few months, I’ve been asked several times if I will miss anchoring KFOX News at Nine. I’ve always said no and this week, I feel especially confident. Hema Mullur is here now and she’s a great addition to the group. I think she will do a fabulous job doing what we’ve always done here at KFOX – own the big story of the day.

For those of you who aren’t aware, I am now the news director at the station and for the last 15 months, I’ve been holding down the ND job as well as the anchoring job simultaneously. The days have been long, long, long. But this is also my first venture into management and the crash course has been good for me. I went from writing, editing and fronting stories to managing a crew of nearly 40 people and drawing up a multimillion-dollar budget. In the next few weeks, we will launch KFOX News at Six, build a new news set, and venture into HDTV. So I guess you could say I’ve been a little busy.

I want to say thanks to all of our viewers who, over the course of the years, got in touch with me. Your thoughts were always appreciated and your criticisms valued.

I may not be sitting in the anchor chair anymore but I am not removed from the daily goings-on of the newsroom. If you have a news comment, critique, question or more – you can always send it to me. My e-mail won’t change: elizabeth.o’hara@kfoxtv.com. Thanks for everything and keep watching KFOX News.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth O’Hara
