EL PASO, Texas -- First, KFOX brought you the Emmy award winning KFOX News at Nine. Seven years later, it launched the area’s first three-hour morning newscast, the KFOX Morning News. Now KFOX is doing it again! KFOX is proud to announce KFOX News at Six with John Purvis and Hema Mullur. KFOX-TV, El Paso’s FOX affiliate, will launch its 6 p.m. newscast Sept. 8."This is a golden opportunity for KFOX to solidify our reputation as the local news leader," said general manager, John Witte. "The timing is right for us to once again launch our no-nonsense brand of news to an audience that has come to expect it from our news team."The 6 p.m. half-hour newscast will be anchored by longtime KFOX News at Nine anchor, and the newest addition to the KFOX News team, Hema Mullur. Mullur joins the team in August from KWES-TV in Midland, Texas. Chief Meteorologist Sandra Diaz rounds out the anchor team. The trio will also anchor our flagship newscast, KFOX News at Nine."The self-imposed expectations are very high," said KFOX news director Elizabeth O’Hara. "We currently carry the No. 1 news audience at 9 p.m. and we’re No. 1 in two of the three hours we broadcast in the morning.
