Megan Hughes joined the KFOX- TV Washington Bureau in November of 2006.

Megan is no stranger to El Paso politics. In the aftermath of Sept. 11, she reported from Washington D.C. for another El Paso station. Her memorable experiences from that time include interviewing survivors from the attack on the Pentagon, covering changes in immigration policy and witnessing Mexican President Vicente Fox’s visit to the White House.

Megan’s passion to tell stories has taken her around the world. During her career, she’s interviewed street children in South Africa, tsunami victims in Thailand and US soldiers inside the DMZ in Korea.

She began her career as an anchor and reporter on the island of Aruba. Before moving to the nation’s capital, she spent 4 years reporting for WRAL-TV in Raleigh and WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina.

Megan earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University, majoring in journalism with a concentration in political science.

A native Clevelander, Megan grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons and the Cleveland Browns with her two younger brothers. She enjoys playing soccer and spending time outdoors…especially if it involves a boat.
