Coming to the Sun City has been one of the most rewarding experiences. I am a native of Los Angeles, but I spent a lot of time visiting the Borderland during childhood. I’m thrilled to be in El Paso with my extended family and Chihuahua. Before joining the KFOX 14 News Team, I worked as a multimedia journalist in Wilmington, NC. Before that, I lived in Washington, D.C., and worked for the Washington Post and a Hispanic lobbyist group. There, I was so blessed to work with my mentors, Charlie Ericson of Hispanic Link and Lori Montenegro of Telemundo.
I attended Georgetown University and the University of California, Irvine.

I Love Lucy
What was the first thing you ever wanted to be?
A State Rep or Congress member.

Multimedia Reporter --- that means you do it all. I was a one-man band.

You get to learn something new every day and you get to meet interesting people. I truly believe journalists can make a difference in their communities.

It can be very stressful but what job isn't?

Being able to sleep-in all morning then getting up to go to beach...followed by some shopping and a wonderful meal.
What advice would you have for someone wanting to go into the business?
Only get into news if you have a passion for it...once you learn that, never let anyone tell you 'you're not cut out' for it.
If you could only keep one 5-minute tape from your career what would be on it?
I honestly don't think - I'm at five minutes yet.... but it would be on my coverage of the tornados that ripped through North Carolina and the wildfires near Elizabethtown, N.C.
