UTEP graduate Gerina Piller was named to the prestigious United States Solheim Cup team Sunday in St. Andrews, Scotland.

Piller, who played golf at UTEP under her maiden name of Gerina Mendoza, was one of two captain's picks, along with Michelle Wie.

"I feel a thousand emotions but I'm just honored to be considered and ecstatic to be picked," the 28-year-old Mendoza said in a press conference in Scotland.
