SNYDER, Texas -- For the first time in school history, the Andress Eagles boys basketball team is headed to the regional finals.

Bolstered by a suffocating defense and its deep bench, Andress outscored Crowley 39-22 in the second half to win 58-36 at Western Texas College on Friday evening.

Andress (30-2) will play Amarillo (26-5) at 1 p.m. Saturday for the Region 1-4A title and for the chance to play in next week's Class 4A state tournament in Austin. Crowley ends its season 19-12. Amarillo defeated Trimble Tech 49-42 in overtime on Friday afternoon to advance to today's title game.
