EL PASO, Texas -- When you think of sports, you don't usually think about high fashion, but Wednesday night, the El Paso Chihuahua's took to the runway to show off their new look.

Five different uniforms were shown to a crowd at an invite-only fashion show at the downtown Civic Center.

There was a white jersey, which will be worn during most home games, an away game-only gray jersey, a home or away black jersey, a home white pinstripe jersey, and an alternate red jersey.

"The uniforms are a 10 out of 10. They really knocked it out of the park on this one," said Frank Licon. "I was really hoping for the pinstripe, I like that one, I like the gray El Paso one, overall I like the black one that's my favorite."

Lucien's young son sounded off on the uniforms as well.

"I like the jerseys; I like the red one and the white one," he said.

Current Padres player and future Chihuahua's player Travis Buck gave the uniforms a thumbs up.

"It's very exciting any time a city comes together, a new ball club, and having four or five different types of uniforms, it's very exciting as a player," Buck said. "When people hear Chihuahuas, they know its El Paso right off the bat, so that's great for the city."

In an era where out of the box uniforms are a common sight in all sports, Buck can't wait to wear his for real this spring.

"You want to look good and all these uniforms are top notch, and I'm very excited to be able to don these here in a couple of months," Buck said.
