Hurricanes Retain LaRose For Two Years

Raleigh, NC -- (Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to terms with forward Chad LaRose on a two-year contract worth $3.4 million on Thursday.LaRose is set to earn $1.5 million next season and $1.9 million in 2010-11. The 27-year-old Michigan native tallied a career-high 19 times with a personal-best 31 points in 81 games for Carolina last season. He ranked second on the club in scoring with 11 points, as the 'Canes advanced to the Eastern Conference finals. In four seasons with the Hurricanes, LaRose has collected 37 goals and 85 points in 268 contests.
